The 21 and 10 kilometre routes start at the top of Du Toit’s Pass and meander down through the Hawequa Reserve. What once was a thick and lush Pine forest is now open and has been cleared due to the fires in 2017. The views across Paarl are now incredible. Exiting the forest the course continues over a number of protea farms and goes through fields of fynbos. Here there are views over the Paarl valley and the monument.
The closing stages are mostly downhill to the finish at D’Vine Estate. The five kilometre event is a circular two loop route through the farmlands and Mountain Shadows at the bottom of the pass. Fun route takes you under bridges, along fields, rivers, orchids with single tracks and gravel roads.
