THE RUN
The course is a challenge, following a hilly gravel path. The race winds through bushveld, fynbos, and pass lush mountains and valleys.

EDITORS NOTES
The Marakele Marathon is arguably the only race in South Africa held inside a National Park that is home to the Big Five. Staggered starts take place, beginning with the marathon at 06h00. The half marathon starts at 06h15 and 10 km at 06h30. Walkers are welcome to enter the half marathon which has a 04:00 time limit and the 10 kilometre which has a 02:00 time limit. Entry fees go towards conservation of Marakele National Park.
