The first half of the race is moderately undulating with no major hills. The route goes through the residential areas of Chatsworth where there is lots of crowd support. A special treat is a run through the scenic Silverglen Nature Reserve. The challenging part of the route comes between the marathon mark and 45 kilometres where there is a gradual yet testing uphill climb. The final five kilometre stretch to the finish should prove relatively easy.
