There are many twists and turns in a race that will prove challenging, yet scenic and interesting. This is a race of two halves, the first is easy and the second a challenge. The canter past the Parkview Golf Course onward to Zoo Lake is pleasant and fast to be sure. Make no mistake the climb back up the ridge will question the strongest New Year’s resolve. Dundalk Avenue is the start of it as you climb back through the leafy streets of Parkview. Westcliff is the suburb where hill climbers are made, not surprising Bruce Fordyce lives in the area. Leave something for the final run to the finish. The Wits Polly’s is there to remind you of all those excesses over Christmas. Welcome back.
