This is a city race with a difference; almost a third of the route is run through the Stainbank Nature Reserve. The first few kilometres around the outside of the reserve are pleasantly easy and flat in some places, downhill in others.

You then enter the reserve and the race becomes more of an uphill challenge along trails and sand roads. The scenery is beautiful around the dam and through the cool, leafy tunnels. If you are lucky you may spot zebra, a variety of antelope and buck, monkeys and other smaller mammals. The final third of this beautiful race is run along the shaded streets of Yellowwood Park.

This race is known for its festive water tables and for the tremendous support from the residents of Yellowwood Park. There is live entertainment and a real party atmosphere at the finish.
