First two kilometres easy flat jeep type track, before starting the 6 kilometres steep jeep track ascent to the top of the first, and second highest climbs hereafter, a long, slow downhill through pine plantations on plantation road, some grasslands on the western side of the Sudwala ridge, before reaching the lowest point the valley.
At the bottom of the valley, some running on a private tarred road for 1.5 km, before turning off into the plantation again. Some gentle climbing along the eastern side of the Sudwala ridge, mostly in the shades of the pine trees.
Crossing underneath the Sudwala/Sabie tarred road, via a culvert and then down towards a flat gravel road for 2km.
After an easy run along the gravel road, you will turn right towards the last major climb. The next 10 kilometres is a slow uphill drag, towards the highest point and the lookout. At the top of Mt Carmel, you will be met, and entertained by the Uniwisp crowd, before starting the fast downhill towards the finish.
Expect some of the most beautiful scenery in the Lowveld. Stop at the top of the Sudwala ridge to take pics of the never ending Schoemanskloof. Enjoy the silence of the pine trees and feel the wind in your face as you cross the grasslands at the top of the Sudwala ridge.
