THE RUN
This multiday self-sufficiency race is run through the Kalahari Desert with set distances for each day, ranging from 28 kilometres to 75 kilometres. The route goes through the Augrabies Falls National Park and private game farms. The terrain is rough and the route is run along many 4x4 tracks. The route will be well marked, there will be no orienteering.
PRIZES AND GIVE-AWAYS
The first man and woman to finish get free entry to the event, valid for three years. All participants get goodie bags which include a T-shirt, socks and other hand-outs. All finishers get a trophy.

EDITORS NOTES
This race was started in 2000 and is South Africa's first international trail race. It is known as the ‘Big Daddy’ by South African runners. Participants must carry all their supplies, clothes and compulsory safety and survival equipment for the duration of the event. Overnight shelter is in camps. Water, which is strictly controlled, is distributed during the race.
