The 10 and 20 kilometre runners will be transported by train on the Paton’s narrow gauge line from Stainton Siding just above Korongo Valley, to Carisbrooke Station approximately seven kilometres - where the race will begin.   The scenery on the course is not to be missed.  Participants wind their way back to Korongo Valley  up beautiful green hills through plantation roads and single tracks, along valleys and hills, passing through farm lands, forest areas and indigenous bush where you may experience a couple of technical sections (alternate routes available).  As read about in Alan Paton’s book “Cry the beloved Country”, “These hills are grass covered and rolling and they are lovely beyond any singing of it.” Fiercely competed or enjoyed at a more leisurely pace the views on these trails are well worth the effort.  

The five kolometre entrants will start and finish at Korongo Valley winding their way through farm lands and forest areas.
